Abstract

The proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has led to an unprecedented generation and exchange of visual data, making security a critical concern. Traditional encryption techniques are often unsuitable for resource-constrained IoT devices due to high computational and energy requirements. This study presents IoT-CryptoImage, an innovative image encryption methodology tailored for IoT security applications. The proposed approach combines lightweight cryptographic algorithms with pixel-level permutation and diffusion mechanisms to secure image data while maintaining low computational overhead. Performance evaluation demonstrates that IoT-CryptoImage provides robust security against common attacks, preserves image integrity, and ensures efficient execution on IoT platforms. The methodology offers a practical and scalable solution for protecting sensitive visual information in modern IoT ecosystems.
