The increasing adoption of light electric vehicles (LEVs) demands efficient, reliable, and high-quality charging solutions. Conventional charging architectures often suffer from reduced power quality, high total harmonic distortion (THD), and energy losses, which can affect battery life and system efficiency. This study presents ChargeMax, a novel transformerless single-stage bridgeless converter charger designed to enhance power quality while reducing component count and improving energy efficiency for LEVs. The proposed converter integrates power factor correction (PFC) and voltage regulation within a single stage, minimizing switching losses and harmonic distortions. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that ChargeMax achieves improved voltage stability, low THD, and efficient energy transfer, making it a viable solution for modern LEV charging infrastructure. The research highlights the potential of innovative converter designs in advancing sustainable and reliable electric mobility
