Abstract

The landscape of Human Resource Management, particularly within the Information Technology (IT) sector, has undergone a radical transformation with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This study critically examines the role of AI in revolutionizing e-recruitment processes, transitioning them from manual, time-consuming administrative tasks to automated, data-driven strategic operations. Given the high volume of applications and the pressing need for specialized technical talent in the IT industry, AI technologies such as automated resume parsers, conversational chatbots, and predictive hiring algorithms have become indispensable. The primary objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of these AI tools on recruitment efficiency, focusing on metrics like 'time-to-fill', cost-per-hire, and the overall quality of candidate matching. Primary data was gathered through a structured questionnaire distributed among HR professionals, technical recruiters, and talent acquisition managers operating within various IT firms. The findings reveal a resounding consensus that AI significantly expedites the initial screening phases and improves candidate engagement through 24/7 chatbot interactions. However, the study also highlights persistent challenges, notably the perceived lack of 'human touch' in final decision-making and concerns regarding unintentional algorithmic biases embedded in historical hiring data. The research concludes that while AI acts as a powerful enabler in e-recruitment, an 'augmented intelligence' approach—combining machine efficiency with human emotional intelligence—is the most effective strategy. Strategic recommendations are provided for IT companies to ethically implement AI tools while safeguarding candidate experience and diversity.
