Abstract

Timely ambulance mobility is critical in saving lives during medical emergencies, yet conventional traffic systems often fail to provide rapid passage due to congestion and lack of prioritization. This study presents AmbuSense, an IoT-driven intelligent traffic management system designed to optimize emergency vehicle mobility. The system integrates real-time traffic data from sensors, cameras, and connected vehicles to dynamically control traffic signals, create prioritized routes, and provide ambulance drivers with the fastest, least congested paths. The IoT platform continuously monitors traffic density and adjusts signal timings to ensure minimal delay for emergency vehicles. Experimental simulations demonstrate significant reductions in ambulance travel time and improved traffic flow without disrupting general traffic. AmbuSense highlights the potential of IoT technologies in enhancing emergency response efficiency and saving lives.
