Abstract

Pomegranates regarded as Fruit of Paradise due to its attractive arils, refreshing juice and fruit skin rich in medicinal properties. India is the world’s largest producer of pomegranates, with significant export potential. However, Indian pomegranate exports are hindered by various challenges, such as inconsistent product quality, inadequate cold chain infrastructure, and regulatory issues. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the current status of pomegranate exports from India, highlights key challenges, and discusses potential strategies to overcome these obstacles. Data from relevant industry reports, government statistics, and trade volumes are presented in tables for better understanding of the trends and challenges involved.
